My Head

Monday.
My fiance is away for the week. I grabbed a couple of beers with my colleague and a couple of friends on Monday (I do have a couple of friends left, fortunately). It turned out that my friends had been donated some tickets to the annual catering staff bash, so we ended up there drinking too many free beers.

Tuesday.
A guy was over from Germany for work so three of us were taken for dinner. Lots of red wine and gigantic steaks, started off with a pint of guinness on an empty stomach.

Wednesday.
I agreed to go to a gig at 8 this evening.

Thursday.
International conference in the company. Lunch afterwards for the 13 staff in a posh restaurant. There will be copious quantities of wine. After the Christmas party with this group, my hang over went for two days.

Friday.
Well, it is Friday, and my fiance:) is away so I will have to keep myself entertained somehow.

Emotional Instability?

I am stressed, but I am not stressed that I am stressed.

I also took up Tae-kwon-do. It is fun.

More importantly, and most difficult to admit, let me admit a shameful recent event:
My flatmate, and my ex-flatmate, have decided to get a flat together, without me. My ex-flatmate has been a friend of mine for a long time, and my current flatmate is more like a friend of his. Maybe I am feeling the lack of close friends.

I have, in financial parlance, written them down. That is two friends less for good old Dr. bin Agnon, master of popularity.

UTD: Why have I not gotten an invite? Does everybody hate me?

Do I read too much news, if I get through these every day?

1. BBC News.
2. Slashdot.org (News for Nerds - Stuff that Matters).
3. Financial Times (Really well-written and informed).
4. Irish Times (Shite - they think they are the intellectual newspaper of Ireland, but we just do not have one).
5. Wall Street Journal.
6. Bloomberg.com.
7. International Herald Tribune (really interesting and well-written pieces, methinks).
8. Fox News (no kidding - it is hysterical).
9. New York Times (although I almost always think it is a bit crap for what I expected).
10. Washington Post (new one, and still awaiting opinion).
11. BreakingNews.ie (Just crappy little reviews of news as it happens).
12. RTE News (Irish state television - like the BBC).
13. Al Jazeera (a bit dull and whiny though).
14. Forbes.com.
15. La Reppublica (this is a new addition, and I still do not understand most of the headlines. Apparently it is Italy's premier broadsheet).
16. Reuters.
17. Euronews.
18. The Economist (nice and centre-to-right right. I like this a lot, although I could probably be considered left).

I hate Mondays

I am tired and depressed. I cannot be bothered doing this presentation, or the simulations.

I am bored of the internet. Update your blogs already!!

I have eaten so much junkfood, and my taekwondo class is not tonight.

Moan, moan, moan...

My New Computer

I was aiming for €300 or less. I am not going to count the postage and packaging, and declare that I have succeeded.

Now I am going to create my own personal server and telephone exchange for using wherever I am. :)

So, obviously I haven't told my Mom yet.

Proposal

We have been together since April 18th, 2007. The ring is platinum with a round single diamond.

Juju, I was actually advised against a full carat in one of the jewellers, as it would look too big and ostentatious, when I described the size of her teeny-tiny fingers. The thing still looks huge on her hand. We need to get it sized, but I suspect she will also pick a slightly different one.

It is very nice and sparkly, I must say. I was worried it would be nice enough, but having checked them out on others for the last six months when possible, I think it qualifies.

As for how she is accepting it? Well, we are moving in together. I delayed the moving in thing until I had asked her. In Italy, and now more so in Ireland, it is common for couples to live together for a long time without getting married. I do not like that idea. I would move in with her if it was in the back of my mind that I might move out. I only want to move in with her if it is clear that it is to be permanent.
